Nintendo Co., Ltd. (Satoru Iwata, Director and President) will launch its next game console, the Wii U, on December 8, 2012 in Japan.
The Wii U will be offered in two sets for consumers to choose from based on how they like to play. The PREMIUM SET will be launched at the suggested retail price of 31,500 yen (including tax) / 30,000 yen (excluding tax), and the BASIC SET will be launched at the suggested retail price of 26,250 yen (including tax) / 25,000 yen (excluding tax).

Nintendo will release "New Super Mario Bros. U", at the suggested retail price of 5,985 yen (including tax) / 5,700 yen (excluding tax), and "Nintendo Land", at the suggested retail price of 4,935 yen (including tax) / 4,700 yen (excluding tax) for the Wii U on the same day the Wii U is launched.
For the overseas markets, our subsidiaries will individually announce their launch date and price.
Furthermore, from 23:00 today (September 13), Nintendo will broadcast what is entitled the "Nintendo Direct Wii U Preview" on the Internet, which will reveal information about software titles scheduled to be launched by Nintendo and third-party publishers (those include other launch titles not mentioned above).
