Making a 3D action game that can be played by anyone with the least chance of 3D motion sickness is something that has long challenged our Mario team. At the same time, since this was going to be an authentic Super Mario action game, it was natural for them to try to implement unprecedented play feel and expression. The Mario Galaxy development team has been tackling these two missions head-on, and, as a result, I believe that the game has been completed in a manner that both veteran and novice players can enjoy. For those who still believe this game might be too difficult for them to play, we have prepared an "Assist Mode", which is a new type of two-player mode in an action game. We'd like to take advantage of the higher number of users per household and higher ratio of Wii installed in living rooms in order to make this game approachable to as many people as possible. Twenty-two years ago when the original Super Mario Brothers was launched, it was not unusual that every family member struggled to grab the NES controller. We are hopeful that we will be able to create a new way of playing with this Mario game, so that many people can again join together to play in the living room.
For your information, although we have not underscored this point, this game will also cater to veteran players who are looking for a full Mario adventure with significant game depth. We will launch Super Mario Galaxy on November 1 in Japan.
Mario & Sonic AT Beijing Olympic, is the first title where Mario and Sonic compete. This collaboration with Sega will be launched on November 22 in Japan.
As for Wii Fit, we will launch it, together with the Balance Wii Board, on December 1 at the suggested retail price of 8800yen.
